ARTerCharters is an arts education planning initiative developed by the New Jersey Charter Schools Association in partnership with Arts Horizons and other New Jersey arts organizations. It is designed to help schools develop high quality arts education programs through effective planning, leadership, and advocacy. The program is funded and supported through a generous grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.
|| ARTerCharters consists of several key components:
- An arts education strategic planning initiative in which the NJCSA and its arts education consultants work closely with charter schools to create and implement 5-year strategic plans devoted to developing high quality, comprehensive, and sustainable arts education programs in New Jersey charter schools.
- Substantial grants that provide seed money for charter schools to build capacity and begin implementation of their arts education plans.
- Workshops and webinars that familiarize educators with the latest research and thinking about the role of arts education in the broader curriculum, as well as introduce them to the many resources available throughout the state.
Workshops and webinars are open to all interested schools, organizations, and individuals; the schedule and registration information for 2016 – 2017 sessions will be available shortly.
