Alexis Ulaj

Alexis Ulaj joins NJPCSA as the Director of Community Mobilization and School Support and brings with her six years of experience as a former ELA teacher, Instructional Coach and Principal at North Star Academy, Clinton Hill Middle School in Newark, NJ, a part of the larger Uncommon Schools charter network.  Alexis holds a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Michigan (Go Blue!), a Master’s in Public Policy from Rutgers University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University. Her educational and professional backgrounds have driven her commitment as an educator working towards equity in education, and she is eager to continue her work in education as a charter advocate with robust school-based experience.

Alexis lives in Mendham, NJ with her husband, Paul, son, Sebastian, and mini goldendoodle, Jax. Outside of her work in education, you’ll likely find her reading a book, experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes or spending time outdoors with her boys.
